La battaglia di Normandia è stata l'ultima grande operazione militare preordinata dal mondo occidentale. Tra il giugno e l'agosto del 1944, a seguito della più imponente invasione di mezzi anfibi della storia, eserciti composti da oltre un milione di uomini decisero il destino dell'Europa. Gli Alleati contano su una forza di quasi tre milioni di uomini. Di questo enorme esercito, 1.700.000 sono americani e il resto inglesi, francesi, canadesi, norvegesi, belgi, polacchi e cecoslovacchi.

The Battle of Normandy was the last major military operation intended by the Western world. Between June and August of 1944, following the largest amphibious invasion in history, armies composed of over a million men decided the fate of Europe. The Allies are counting on a force of nearly three million men. Of this huge army, 1.7 million Americans and the rest are English, French, Canadians, Norwegians, Belgians, Poles and Czechs.
The images were taken in the area of Omaha Beach between Vierville and Port-en-Bessin
